Great (and HUGE), fenced off-leash park at the foot of Lee Avenue...
It was a hot, humid day today and it was GORGEOUS by the water (not suffocating like up on the Danforth where we live).
We were there around 3 p.m., and it wasn't very busy.
There was a great mix of small, medium and large-sized dogs.
The water is shallow enough to wade in, then gets deeper further out. The dogs play everywhere (on the rocky and sandy sections of beach and in water) . There are bushes and tall grass in places, and many different little "coves" and places to throw a ball/frisbee long distances.
There were a couple of dog walkers there when we were, and maybe a dozen dogs in the whole fenced in area.
We're trying to get Malik used to the water as another form of exercise and stimulation, and this was a great place to do it. I could wade in a bit with her in my arms and then put her in the water so she could swim back to shore. She loved it!
My complaints (a.k.a. why it lost a star)
- No shade
- Nowhere to sit (besides one big driftwood log in the southwest corner of the area)
We'll be back for sure! It's so close to our new place, plus it's a nice change of scenery from our usual haunt, High Park!
