  • I've been going to this place for years, you see the same people in there all the time. It's got the best location to people watch in the entire market. Not a place to go with your entire family as there are only a few seats. They have huge selection of sweets and bulk coffee in the back and nice seating outside. However; I have noticed the last year or so that the coffee isn't as tasty as it used to be, it tastes acidic and sometimes bitter. I don't know if they have a different distributor? but this is a very unique place to go on a -12 winter afternoon and not full of people with their computers and homework spread all over the tables. Sometimes drug users and other types show up at the front windows or at the outside seating and bother customers. The market is changing for the worse. Checkin... I stopped going there after I had some aggressive panhandler at the front window and we were shouting at each other and the cafe owner never came over to get rid of the guy and I actually waved down a cop car to report the whole thing. That creepy guy with the long ponytail who aggressively bothers people in the market every day, all year. I've seen him checking his smartphone on Spadina, paid for by market customers....
