| - The search criteria that found me Hotel Victoria was location, price, and ability to accommodate a third person within the same room. It felt a little ludicrous at the time that the third criteria caused us to have to discard so many other hotels, but now I am glad it did because we wouldn't have found Hotel Victoria otherwise.
A boutique hotel located in downtown Toronto, Hotel Victoria carries an air of casual elegance from its lobby all the way to its room. It is conveniently close to so many things: Sony Centre, shopping districts, business centres, various eateries, so many parking decks... Yet the street it is on is nicely quiet, so that guests are not hindered from their nightly rest. The room we were placed in was very comfortable, with more than enough space for three without feeling crowded, and it is very clean. The beds were very comfortable, like the beds at home; none of us usually sleep well on a strange bed on a first night, but all three of us slept very very well on these beds, so much so that we kind of overslept a little. The bathroom felt a bit on the small side with next to no counter space, but it was still manageable, and it was again very clean with everything in working order.
The hotel conveniently has a restaurant managed by a partner attached to it, with the restaurant serving breakfast and lunch (no dinner, alas). We didn't get to eat there, but the smells coming out of the restaurant while we were checking in were wonderful.
While Hotel Victoria doesn't usually offer check in prior to 3PM, and check out is usually at 11AM, they do offer locker service for guests who would like to drop off their luggage and wander around the area for a while. They also do not appear to offer private parking area, but as mentioned above, there are plenty of secure parking garages in the area (not to mention access to public transport).
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. Hotel Victoria will definitely be our first consideration the next time we plan to be in town.
