| - First, I have been a patient for 10+ years. I will never return nor will anyone in my household. I have previously recommended people to Dr. Featherstone for years, he is a fantastic dentist, so this review is moreso for the office than his work. After this last little front office stunt, I will never come back. I was charged a $60 no-show fee and 2 "finance charges" for unpaid bill of $13 that I never received since it was being sent to the wrong address, even though I had updated my address several times and paid my bill for service before walking out the door after my last appointment. When I called the front office to ask about the balance on my account I was told that the noo-show fee would not be reversed and it was suggested that I don't pay my bills. Keep in mind I paid for my last services at the time of service and this $13 charge was something that the insurance maybe didn't cover which I have no problem paying, but the thing is I have been there several times since I moved (it was an address from several years ago) and have updated my address with them multiple times. I need to know I owe money in order to pay it.
Second, as someone who is a public servant and works with the federal government in emergency response and is willing to provide proof of emergency deployment I find it deplorable that your front office staff was unwilling to remove a fee when I have document proof that I was deployed for this instance. NO, this is not the fist no-show I have and I'm sorry you have a no-show policy but that shouldn't apply to those of us who serve in Emergency Response and are risking life and health to protect you. It happens, and will happen again, I will have no-shows occasionally, especially over the span of 10+ years, because my work is far more important than a dental cleaning. No, I'm not willing to pay $60 for doing my job and doing it well. But hey, that $60 must really be worth losing a long time patient and a lot of referrals.
Finally, Here's a link to the site I was deployed to the day I "no-showed" for my appointment, although I was able to get someone to actually call the office during the event for me and explain the situation so they had the head's up that I wouldn't be making it to my appointment so it was in not a no-show just not cancelled within their 48 hr time frame, just so you know why you charged me a fee. I will no longer do business with this office and wanted to put this experience out there. They can bill me for that $60 charge along with the one I will probably get for today for standing my ground on this one.
