I absolutely love this club! I feel great every time I go because of the nostalgic vibe that takes me back to happy times when people were friendly and kind and family meant everything. The food is wonderful at an incredibly low price, portions are generous, and it is understood that sometimes you will have your table bussed and sometimes not if the volunteers are busy. My first time there, I was invited to sit at a table with long-time members so that we could chat, and I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. One of the ladies showed me where to put my plates when I was done with them because it was a night without bussing--I didn't mind at all and made me feel like one of the gang.
I loved it so much that I had my birthday there a couple of years ago on a Wednesday pasta night and invited a small handful of friends. They allowed me to bring my own cake and set aside a large table for me--all at no additional charge, and I was not even a member. My friends were stuffed to the gills for $10 apiece and I was glad that they didn't have to break the bank to celebrate with me.
My wife and I go to the club as a gay couple in our 30s and have been treated kindly, no strange looks that we noticed, and have even been engaged in conversation by several people (which rarely happens anywhere else these days). We feel perfectly comfortable there and are respectful not to act inappropriately (which usually works wherever we go).
I am now a new member of the club and very happy that I can enjoy alcoholic drinks at prices that are a steal. What else can I say? The music is fun and live, very rare these days. And I'm excited to try out the bingo nights where the jackpots reach the thousands sometimes.
Hope to see you there!
