  • I spent 3 consecutive days at this spa and only because I was staying at the Mandalay for a week-long conference. The first 2 times, I got the $30 day pass and the 3rd time, I had booked a 50 minute massage. I used every single amenity available and gave this spa three chances to make a good impression. Fitness Center: The only reason why I got the $30 day pass was to use the fitness center. The complementary cardio room included in the resort fee was small with a limited selection of free weights. I'm glad I went to this fitness center instead because they had a very wide range of weight machines, free weights, space, and everything that I could ever want. Cons: no proper mat area for stretching or core work and the only two foam rollers were old and completely warped. Worth the additional $30 alone? Of course not, but if you're desperate for some serious gym time, this is much better than the free cardio room. Steam room, sauna, and hot tubs were pretty standard and clean, however, there was no volume control on the other guests and since you're basically forced to be in the same small-ish area, expect to hear every single conversation going on during your "relaxing" stay. I had been looking forward to my 50 minute massage for over a month. $150 for a 50 minute massage and I was beyond disappointed, maybe even angry towards the end. My masseuse, Carlene, asked what areas to focus on. The red flag raised after she didn't bother asking about pressure, what technique I wanted, and if there were areas I wanted to exclude upfront. After about 10 minutes of what seemed like oil rubbing, I told her to increase the pressure and specifically said I needed deep tissue because of my abundance of knots. She really only spent an additional 10 minutes of where I really wanted her to focus. The rest of the 30 minutes was wasted on unwanted firm pressure on all of my limbs. Nobody should ever feel like they need another massage immediately after getting a massage. It was as if I had just paid for someone to put oil on my back and then elbow the hell out of my arms and legs. In comparison to the other spas on the strip that I've been to (Mirage, Cosmopolitan, Caesars, Aria), this was not my favorite. They don't have basic things like shaving cream, and you have to request razors, plastic bags, and other things yourself whereas other spas have them readily available for you in the rooms. Very limited snacks and drink selection. The showers were not the cleanest (sludgy and dusty corners), rough towels, and robes meant for 6 feet tall women. Then there's there's the service of those running the facility. A brunette with a poorly concealed attitude of a teenage girl and a guy who couldn't give me an itemized receipt or confirmation and then had the audacity to ask why I needed one. Then there were the times when I waited around for 15 minutes for someone at the womens lounge for a locker, circled the facility three times to find someone, only to exit to the front desk just to get a hold of a human being. I will definitely pass this spa the next time around.
