  • Dr. Marlene Joy was assigned by the courts to reconcile me to my children. Not understanding the court system, I expected to visit once or twice and be declard okay to be with children. Dr. Joy did not understand the issues in the marriage and was manipulated by my ex-wife to see her way only. My openness and willingness to take responsibility for items I contributed to a failed marrieage were thrown back at me in a derogatory way in her report instead of being recognized for what they were; an open and honest admission. No hiding or passing the buck or blame.. Her report was a joke; it read like a collection of statements with no scholarly analysis of the whys behind the issues or statements made by my children. I could have written a better report. What a disappointment. She failed to recognize the consistent coaching provided to the children to answer and complain about the same things to protect Mommy. You are forced to spend a lot of money with these court appointed therapists in hopes of escaping the nightmare imposed by the family court system by going through this process, but realize the court system is the bread and butter to these third tier therapists. There is no incentive for these therapists to reconcile you to your children. It is a gravy train for them. Please look elsewhere if forced into the TI process by the courts, Dr. Joy is clueless.
