| - The first cleaner I had did a good job. The second, Kayla, she did an awesome job. I have requested her each time ever since and she has consistently done a great job. She is always on time, does not waste time, she's friendly but is here to do a job.She is polite, respectful and always asks if there is anything else we would like done. She is very thorough and I have been very pleased with her.
I originally started with a groupon for $15 per hour and was able to use them for up to 20 hours within one month, as I recall. After that it went to $20 per hour plus $5 if they bring the supplies. Shortly after that, I saw the price was increasing to $25 per hour as of 9/14 unless you have them come either weekly or bi-weekly.
Although my home is nly about 1480 square feet, 3 bedrooms (one is used as an office) and one is mostly storage and needs nothing more than a quick vacumn, and I have 1 1/2 baths, their system still says I need 2 1/2 hours, which I belive to be more than necessary. However, Kayla always does a great job.
I recently went on line and rescheduled every 10 days as I just can't afford it every week at that price. 3 times per month costs me roughly the same as my old company, which I used for over 2 years, but they came every other week and had 2 cleaners. Their work was spotty - sometimes great and other times just so-so. Overall I am pleased with what I have received and working with Homejoy, however, I think they could make their website a little more customer friendly and allow you to choose what you want and not just the few items they list, ie, perhaps I should say the categories you are given to choose from. There's a big difference in a 1500 and 2000 square foot home, but that is one category and has something to do with how much time they determine you need. I agree with what another reviewer wrote about the difficulty in reaching someone by phone. I too sat on hold for an excessive amount of time and was not very satisfied with the customer service I finally received. However, I'd gladly give Kayla 5 stars, but only 3 for Homejoy itself.
