| - I went to the dealership on a Saturday morning with a friend of mine to offer advice. Late the night before he had been to this location and had agreed to purchase a car but did not take possession of the vehicle. By the next morning he was regretting his decision, having felt pressured the night before and asked me to go with him to look at the car and the numbers before he took possession. Upon arriving we were greeted and my friend told the sales person his concerns and he wanted to back out of the deal. After some discussion my friend was told that he can get out of the deal because he had not taken possession of the vehicle and we were told to wait while a sales manager "Rolled back" the paperwork and the manager would be out shortly to meet with us and give us any information/paperwork needed. We waited patiently for 57 minutes before I got up and asked for some assistance. The lobby was filled with customers so we assumed they were just busy. I would like to note that during our 57 minute wait, this location called for and held a sales person huddle or meeting with a lobby filled with customers. As someone who has worked in sales I find that incredibly unprofessional!
Once I asked for help another, more senior sales person was sent to our table right away and continued to try to get my friend to buy a car. His "pitches" were not accurate as he told my friend he would pay less overall with a new car over his current car. This is not true if you accurately run the numbers, which I did, and when I told him that he was incorrect he raised his voice with me telling me that I was wrong. This man clearly did not like me. He even said, "you clearly don't want your friend to get this new car. Why don't you want to help him?" He made comments throughout our interactions that I was wrong and alluding to the idea that I was the problem in this interaction and that I was being difficult. I am sure, in his eyes, I was the problem as my advice was actually in my friends best interest not in the interest of a sale. I still find that behavior to be very rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. However, my purpose in being there was to look out for my friends best interest so I told him that we should see what they have , perhaps they have a vehicle that will better suit both his lifestyle and financial needs. We told the sales person what criteria we needed to meet in order to buy a car.
They made an minor effort to show us a few cars but my friend and I did the majority of the work. Due to prior obligations we were handed between sales people. We were left with a newer sales person who did not know the stock. This newer sales person, Chris, was by far the best person we dealt with all day. He made a concerted effort to help us and understood our position. He was the most understanding and genuine person which is what I ALWAYS want in a sales person. However, due to his lack of experience on the job my friend and I ended up walking the lot to find the car that we thought would be the best fit. Between this and looking at the inventory on the website we were able to locate 3 cars that would likely work and we went back to discuss terms. They brought limited information to my friend and when I asked for the total cost the sales person was visibly frustrated with me. Of the 3 vehicles that we were interested in 2 of them would not work due to banking regulations or cost. One, a Nissan Rogue S AWD would have worked. They were unable to provide us with the deal they had offered at the start of our day and after needlessly spending 4.5 hours at the dealership and after watching me be treated poorly my friend finally said enough and told them he wanted out of the deal. We really made an effort to make a deal with this location going as far as calling other banks to see if we could get the deal that we needed. At this point I wanted copies of the paperwork that had been signed by my friend for his records and I was told we could not have them. I went up to speak to the manager who was rude to me and wouldn't actually look at me while I was talking which is incredibly insulting. However, I took it in stride and just stated that my friend has the right to have copies of his paperwork and any copies that would show that it has been reversed. Essentially what we waited 57 minutes for at the start of the day. I was sent on a wild goose chase by the sales person to find these forms while he sat with my friend. I was told later that he told my friend to "to be a man" and "not let me boss him around" while I was gone. How insulting! As we were leaving he raised his voice at me again and I told him not to yell at me. He huffed and we left.
Overall our experience was terrible. Obviously, we won't return. I did like the Nissan Rogue for a family member of mine but I will be purchasing that car from another dealership. In the end the majority of the people here were downright insulting and they lost TWO car sales.
