I decided to move to Vegas for a fresh start. A friend recommended Linda Jo Brown. The experience was nothing I ever want to repeat. She said she'd been in the real estate business for 20 years and she'd look out for me. She did not. The condo I bought had a tenant in it. What I didn't know is that the tenant hadn't paid rent in months. There was no security deposit. I ended up having to evict her and she trashed my place to the tune of $30,000.
I met with a real estate lawyer who told me that Linda Jo Brown should have known what to ask about this tenant before and during escrow. She also should have known that there was a second homeowner's association that I was responsible for paying. I found this out via a nasty collection letter from the association. The lawyer said the paperwork was not the usual paperwork that realtors used, which was shady, according to the lawyer. She urged me to sue Linda Jo Brown and Realty One.
I chose not to sue because I was newly divorced and moving to a new state. It was a horrible experience and I wanted to put it behind me. Suing would only prolong my anger and disgust at what should not have happened. I will definitely never use Realty One Group in the future.
