I grew up riding horses so this is one of my favorite things to do when I visit Vegas! The "Red Springs Ride" is the trail I've done now twice. It's perfect...not too long but not too short. For an hour and a half you'll go through narrow gorges, which is a lot more exciting to me than just flat ground. In Florida we aren't lucky enough to have such beautiful mountains so this makes my typical horseback riding that much more enjoyable. The scenery is just unbelievable! All the horses are well cared for and great at taking direction. All the instructors we've had have always been very knowledgeable & friendly.
TIP: Wear jeans or yoga pants. You definitely don't want to wear shorts because parts of the trail are very narrow and brush with often rub up against your legs. Also wear sunglasses since you are out in the desert and when there's any kind of wind, dirt and sand can get in your eyes. Also pack sunscreen! They sell water bottles but you may also bring your own. They provide you with a little pouch that goes on the horse to keep items like...water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses or cell phone.
