| - Not bad. When living in the states, especially west Texas, ramen, more specifically real ramen, isn't easy to come by. Come to think of it, ramen in the states isn't easy to come by period. Perhaps it's because ramen has seemingly been lost in translation? For some reason, the dish that's ate in china, Korea, and especially Japan, has been super dumbed down and turned into a quick, cheap, microwaved dish ate by college kids on a budget. This of course causes westerners like me to be baffled at restaurants that ONLY serve ramen. Even when I was in Hawaii, I couldn't understand why someone would take a $0.99 thing and make a restaurant out of it? Anyways... ramen is a thing, and an art. So finding legit ramen is hard to come by.
This place hit the spot. It's decor, staff, even customers, aren't what one would expect from a traditional ramen spot. It reminded me more of a Cracker Barrel than a ramen shop. But the ramen itself is legit. And true to its name, they have all things noodles. They serve Udon, Soba, ramen, even Pad Thai! Noodles for days Mayne!
The menu rounds itself out by offering a variety of other items from sushi rolls to katsudon. Also a variety of drinks. From your normal lemonades to something I had to try just because it was there. Ok, so y'all know what Thai tea is: the "milk tea" drink. Unusual sounding but we all know it works. Well have you ever heard of "Milk Pepsi"? I haven't. So I ask the very polite and helpful waitress, what exactly this is. She happily explained to me, well it's milk, and Pepsi. Go figure, it was legit. Now I'm never gonna drink Pepsi again without milk. Which won't be often anyways, because I don't drink Pepsi. But again, if I do, it had better have milk in it.
So if you're in Phoenix, for whatever reason, this place is a must go. The price is very fair too.
Das it Mayne.
