Dr. did good work and explained everything thoroughly. When they send a biopsy to the lab, however, beware of the costs. These lab costs are seperate from the work at Dr. Zuch's office. The biopsy is sent to Oral Pathology Associates Inc in Los Angeles. Some people on the internet have claimed that Dentists get kickbacks for sending work to this lab because the lab then sticks the patient with the costs and they claim to not accept most insurance plans. $310 for lab work is ridiculous. My insurance company (Blue Cross) told me that the dentist should have checked with the lab (service provider) if they accepted insurance before submitting work on behalf of the patient, thus leaving the patient with the costs of the lab. I also think this is how this lab makes most of their money, by sticking people who can't pay. My only question is: if Dr. Zuch's office knows this, why do they use this lab? Perhaps that kickback rumor is true. Anyway, just refuse to have a biopsy sent to a lab.
