  • Mattie's is a gem. If you take a moment and read the history behind it you will love it even more. Hard working people with good hearty food! The last time my boyfriend and I went we overheard Mattie himself say he had worked 14 hours the night before, went home to sleep for two and was back at 8am with a smile on his face. Our waitresses were fun and friendly and the atmosphere is like stepping onto the set of 1950's movie. The menu is well thought out and all the food is delicious. Just be warned... it's the kind of food that will put you into a food coma! If you are planning to finish your plate you better also plan for a nap! Definitely worth seeing for yourself.
