Wow! What can I say... I really really enjoyed my tacos. Apparently The Tin Kitchen comes to our corporate campus every Friday -- WHO KNEW??? NOT I! And damn happy that I do now.
Let me tell you this, for a fusion taco truck to come rolling up out of the blue in corporate center hell, it made me pinch myself. And then to be slapped across the face by those smells that came from the truck--man was I in awe.
I usually brown bag it as the food they serve here is not worth the money... bland as hell, but now I know when and where I will be shelling out some dough -- Friday's baby, that's when and it going to be go to the Tin Kitchen!
These guys are super nice and accommodating! I left with my food in hand and a smile knowing they really care about their product and customer service.
I had the "Smoked Salmon Tacos-Flash seared smoked salmon, cilantro-japanese rice, pineapple pico de gallo, & cilantro lime aioli"
At first, when I was reading the menu, I thought to myself there were to many flavors going on... but I was sold on smoked salmon and said what the hell!
Let me tell you.. I was completely wrong.. the layering of these flavors hit a home run. From the homemade tortillas, to the pico de gallo (they actually know what that is and how it should be prepared) I was truly in heaven. Now don't expect anything to be Mexican because they use the word 'taco" -- that is just the vessel of how it is going to get into your mouth.. this is completely fusion. A fresh look at an old favorite.
Tomorrow is Friday and you can bet on where I will be come noon... getting me some Tin Kitchen on!
