| - I have been to this venue three times and I love it! The grounds are immaculately kept, the rooms neat, clean, and business friendly, and ground floor rooms open onto little patios that overlook the rocky face of the butte.
The hotel itself is very unique, built right into the rocky butte, and as you enter the lobby, you are greeted by a lovely, live hardscape of cactuses and desert plants with a little stream behind the registration desk.
Travel down the stairs to the Market Cafe and you can dine indoors or out with coy fish swimming in a rocky pond fed by the stream behind the registration desk.
In addition to the Market Cafe, dining options include the Lobby Bar, which again has indoor and outdoor seating, crafted cocktails, and a menu that ranges from sumptuous to waistline-friendly but still delicious. Stroll across the valet parking area and enter the Top of the Rock, a more formal dining experience with a gorgeous patio complete with fire pits, or dine indoors in a modern yet rustic setting. Fantastic menu items and great selection of wines.
The guest rooms are separated from the hotel and the conference building by a long open-air pedestrian bridge that overlooks the multiple pools and grottos. I don't mind a bit of a walk from the guest rooms to the lobby or conference building because it is like strolling through a desert garden.
The conference center has 2 large ballrooms, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs, and they split into 4 and 2 smaller rooms, respectively. The also have 24-person capacity meeting room on the upper floor and 5 18-person capacity meeting rooms on the lower floor, as well as a 200-person capacity indoor amphitheater.
The wifi in the conference center was just completely updated in 2017, so wifi is great, including on the Kachina (large ballroom) level and its adjacent cathedral ceilinged foyer and the lovely 200-capacity outdoor Kachina patio.
I recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway by the pool - and I forgot about on other option, the drinks bar between the two major pools, the "Thirsty Cactus." I also recommend this hotel for conferences because the conference building rooms are customizable to fit your needs and the business friendly guest rooms are comfortable and modern.
In addition, they have an outdoor venue onsite, La Hacienda, which has a bathroom building and is capable of holding a few hundred people for plated means or buffet. Next to La Hacienda is a grassy area with volleyball courts and enough room to set up games and activities.
