The science center always has something interesting to discover (even Yelp has had a great event there).
This particular review is about a new feature at Dorrance Planetarium that I highly recommend everyone attend... the laser light shows!
Went with my wife and a friend last night to see Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon with laser effects coordinated to music from their iconic album.
It was a THOROUGHLY enjoyable and emotional experience... in spite of getting soaked in our short walk from the parking garage because the sun was shining in Gilbert when we left home and who knew to bring an umbrella. It was actually good for a few laughs and if anything made the planetarium experience even better. Can't say as much for the ride home though because it was raining harder when we came out.
After seeing the show, we'd do it again even knowing we were going to get wet.
This is an exeriment for the planetarium as they don't yet have a permanent laser installation. Audience participation will dictate whether they make it permanent like many other world class planetariums around the country.
Do yourself a favor and GO!
The show was sold out so I encourage everyone to order tickets for upcoming shows ASAP.
Here's a link to their show schedule and online ticket sales. BTW, there are no "service fees" using their site and they'll validate your parking ticket for Heritage garage adjacent to the Science center, so parking only costs a buck!
ENJOY!
