  • 4.5* As much as I'm into bar hopping, barber hopping is an activity that has caused me genuine distress ever since a new barber paved an intersection in my head when I was 11 years old! So to say that I was skeptical when I first walked into Van's after my regular barbershop of 14 years closed its doors is an understatement! I'm pleased to say that on the whole, I've been very happy with my experience over the past two years. Van himself pays great attention to detail, and will regularly spend a significant amount of time to ensure you are as close to your desired result as possible. Add a good conversation to this mix and you've got quite a deal for ~$20 tax and tip included! What I've begun to appreciate even more is that Van has a genuine passion for music. If you happen to stumble in during odd hours, you could find him trying some new tunes on his guitar, and one of the staff even sings along from time to time! These practice sessions are then transformed into a band that plays for charity in various venues around Ontario. Overall, a great place to get a cut and maybe catch a show if you live in the proximity. Definitely recommended.
