| - These days when health insurance plans for eye coverage is poor, I'm grateful for services like Lesco Optical. I needed a pair of glasses mainly for driving at night. After learning that my insurance plan did not include eye exams, frames/glasses or contacts, I resorted to online websites. Unfortunately since my need for glasses was so limited, even w/ the cheaper frames found online, I was still looking to spend close to $200 for a frame/lenses.
Then I looked up on Yelp and imagine my delight when I found the reviews for Lesco. Although there was on 2, I figured it was worth a gamble as I drive near the store almost daily.
As you enter the frame shop, you will be greeted from one of the sales staff who may be either working w/ another customer or working in the back room. Either way, they will ask you what you need and if you say your there to pick out frames, they will confirm that you have a Rx from you doctor (my ophthalmologist was Dr. Heller in Phoenix who is wonderful and you can check his reviews out on Yelp too).
Once you've established that, you can spend all the time you like looking at the large wall of frames -- there must be close to 500 men/women/children's frames.
Best to call ahead, as it is a first-come-first-serve, and I guess lunchtime M-F is the busiest. I lucked out as I went in on a weekday just around 12:30 and I was the first in line. Only a few of us were there during my entire visit, and the others who came in were picking up there glasses.
So there you have it, a great place to get very inexpensive, stylish glasses. $79 Total = Frames + Lenses + Anti-glare w/ turnaround in 7 days! All 3 sales associates were very pleasant and helpful, I worked w/ Bill for choosing frames, and also had an opportunity to talk w/ the other 2 associates at my initial visit and follow up. You won't be disappointed and best of all, you get a great pair of glasses for a super deal!
