| - I have purchased furniture from RC Wiley, Walker, and Ashley over the past couple of years.. While RC Wiley had the best selection to choose from (thus the 2 star review instead of 1) their customer service is the absolute worst. Most notably the delivery people.
We ordered over $15,000 in furniture (Order 36199725), didn't haggle, and paid cash. Everything seemed fine until it came time to deliver. Firstly, one of the tables we ordered was broken and had to be put on back-order, so we went without a coffee table for over a week. When the first delivery came, the guys that delivered were absolutely rude. Their call-ahead said they would be there at 9. I explained that my wife was dropping my kid off at school and wouldn't be home until at least 9:15. They delivery guy threw a fit and said they didn't have time to wait around. 15 minutes...really? They were very rude to my wife as well. They refused to move furniture around. Once they set it down in the house, that was it. We ordered two huge area rugs. They just unrolled them (with tape still all over the bottom of the rugs that stuck to my brazillian cherry wood floors) and said to "let them unroll for 24 hrs." BS - they didn't want to put them under the furniture. They left all of the wrapping, Styrofoam, tape, etc on every piece of furniture for us to take off ourselves. It wasn't fun moving around the big furniture with just me and my wife. They also left a bunch of trash in my front yard. They could have at least put it down on the street instead of making me clean up after them. Considering they actually charged us for the delivery, on top of everything we purchased, this was completely unacceptable.
Now fast forward to delivery of the broken coffee table (a week later). We scheduled the delivery for Jan 11. I told the salesman that called that we wanted to get an additional end table and some trees and would be down to see him. He took it upon himself to unschedule our delivery of the coffee table. So we waited around all day for a table that never showed up. When I called at the end of the day, they said the table would have to be re-scheduled and could be another week. Thats when I absolutely lost it, and probably said some rude things on the phone. Low-and-behold: they delivered the next day. If they have a manager that is running this delivery department, he/she should be fired immediately. Completely unacceptable and I will never purchase from RC Willy again.
For the "web" employee that is going to apologize and explain how uncommon our experience is - don't bother. An apology after the fact is worthless.
