  • Scottsdale, the Wests most Eastern town, to paraphrase their slogan. Kind of like Miami beach without the beach. In the Phoenix metro area, we refer to this place as "Snotsdale". It's expensive and pretentious, claiming to be the land of the rich and the best restaurants, shopping, etc. There are richer people and better neighborhoods in the main city, Phoenix. The other suburbs of Phoenix have more influence on the culture of the Phoenix metropolitan area. One very good thing, here, though. The Harkins Camelview theater is the best place for films in the Metro area, with the best art films and foreign movies in the Valley that you can't see anywhere else in Arizona. So this gem within Scottsdale is a 5 star attraction. It's small and intimate, but with lots of choices.
