A clean lower mid-market chain hotel on Madison's east side just off the Interstate.
We stayed for one night to attend graduation in early May and found this place to be all that you would expect from a 2-3 star hotel.
Functionally everything was fine with generic cookie-cutter rooms, basic furnishings lower end bath amenities and the traditional shower tub. The place seemed fairly clean and the room a/c worked fine. It's just that we've been staying a lot in hotels across the globe with a little more character so returning to generic white walls in your basic box hotel presents a bit of a contrast.
At $179/night it was pricey for the quality; but like all Madison hotels, they take full advantage of the University calendar boosting the rates when people are in town for events (in our case, graduation weekend).
Bottom line, nothing special or unique but perfectly fine for sleep quality so if all you want is something basic on the edge of the city, this fits the bill perfectly. Just don't expect a warm and friendly welcome from Shannon at the front desk.
