| - I am deeply disappointed with this place today. I've been going there for maybe 2 years, and really, I went there the first time because of the reviews I read on Yelp. I've been satisfied up until today. Now, I've been getting my nails done and getting pedicures for about 25 years, so I've been just about everywhere and have had all kinds of service--good, bad, mediocre, you name it. But today at Magic Nails was the very first time I was charged extra to have my nails trimmed along with a fill and gel polish. I don't have artificial nails, they just lay a top coat of acrylic on my nails to strengthen them, then I get the UV gel polish. I made the appointment for a fill (an appointment they made me wait 20 minutes for), which always and everywhere includes the manicure. Si (the owner I think) tried to tell me that it doesn't and charged me $3.00 for a "cut down." He never cut anything, BTW, and did everything with the Dremel, just like he always has. He has done my nails at least 5 times, and I've never had this charge before. I've never been charged to have my nails cut with a fill ever. Not ever. This is a first, and it's left such a sour taste that I won't go back. Which is a bummer because it was really convenient for me. He told me everyone charges that. No, they don't, and he never has either. I don't know what's going on there--Si was in a really pissy mood today--but you don't gouge a customer because you're in a bad mood. Oh, well, I hope he's glad that that $3.00 charge cost him a customer.
