We contacted this dealership about potentially purchasing/leasing a new Chevy Volt. The dealership returned our call claiming that they don't have a Volt on site but they would have one there by 10AM the following day as it was being brought over from another of their locations.
Upon arrival, I was told that they didn't have the Volt on location but they have 10 of them at another of their locations and drove me over there. The second location sales people seemed very confused at the suggestion that they would have 10 volts in stock so the salesperson and I headed back to the original dealership. Along the way, the salesperson begins to start pitching the Malibu to me. I didn't go to the dealer for a Malibu and a Malibu is in no way shape or form comparable to a Volt other than both having four wheels and passenger space inside.
At the dealership, the sales manager comes over to "close the deal" on a Malibu. I said that they could show me a Malibu hybrid which suddenly starts to become just a regular Malibu. I let them continue to talk further and further away from what I came to buy as I decided the moment they tried to switch me over to the Malibu that I was just going to get a Toyota Prius Prime instead.
I gave them 2 stars instead of one since they did buy me lunch for my time and they were generally personable and friendly. However, all the other stars disappeared for failing to have on hand what I wanted to purchase and telling me that they had it all squared away and furthermore for trying to swap me over to a Malibu. I would never want a Malibu - I'd go get a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord before I ever considered a Malibu unless it were 3/4 the price of a said Camry or Accord. Chevy could have had another Volt customer - now Toyota sold a Prius Prime instead.
