  • In November, I took a trip around 4pm to take advantage of the sunset and day prices. It was mid-week and pretty empty. We got tickets from my brother as a gift, so we went straight inside. After a quick bag check, we proceeded through the maze to get on. That didn't take much time at all and once outside, we were directed to one of the chained off boarding areas. Since it was so slow, it was just four of us in one pod (hold us to 40 people). That definitely helped the experience. There was so much room that it was mostly private. It also allowed us to venture all areas of the pod easily. The pod is equipped with seating around the edges and encased in floor-to-ceiling windows. It also has air conditioning. There are a few TV screens with a video guiding you through the ride, like reaching the highest point of 550 feet and fun facts about Vegas and specifically the High Roller. I went again in December during the evening when my best friend was visiting. A bit more people this time around (it was 7:30pm on a Tuesday, but it was also the day before NYE), but we still managed to beat the crowd! We actually waited longer in line to get our tickets than to get to the High Roller. Everything was pleasant, except there were two young children in our pod and they were unfortunately unruly - they were running around, climbing between the door and its hinges (where it says DO NOT STAND), and CRYINGGG. Oh, the best part? Their parents were more concerned about taking photos of themselves than watching their children. Anyway, one big difference between going during the day and the evening: it's tougher to take photos at night. Trying not to get the reflections of everyone in your photos is difficult, especially if your pod is fuller. Tickets Day Standard: $24.95 Night Standard: $34.95 One Day Flex: $44.95 Three Day Flex: $54.95 Happy Half Hour Day: $29.95 (open bar 12pm-6pm) Happy Half Hour Night: $44.95 (open bar 6pm-1am) Family Pack Day: $74.95 (two adults, two youth) Family Pack Night: $99.95 *Flex: choose the day or day(s), then ride any time.
