  • Cool little pub in downtown Toronto and the draft beer selection is outstanding, which is all that mattered to us. We were stuffed from dinner in Chinatown, but my friend who used to live in the area wanted to have a drink here earlier, so I said "hey, let's just go in for one or two beers". They have a ton of good Belgian, Dutch and German beers and a few other types (British, American, Irish). On this particular evening we sipped on a few Koeningshoeven Quadrupels, which are 10% alcohol but taste awesome. I could drink that beer all the time and since it's so strong, you don't need too many of them. I caught a mild buzz from a single beer, which pretty much never happens. Inside it was like a chill lounge, with some mostly younger people hanging out on couches and tables. Our bartender was really nice, let us sample a couple of beers and recommended some. Most of the beers are between $5 and $6.50 Canadian, which seemed really cheap compared to what I would pay for Imported beer where I live in Florida, but after taxes, including liquor tax, a $6.50 beer was more like $8. Even so, for quality beer it was worth it. I didn't try any of the food or see any of it, so I can't comment on that. They have different flights you can get for around $7.75. Next time I'm in Toronto, hopefully in the springtime, I'd like to pop in here for a pint or two.
