Buying a french press might not have been the smartest thing to do considering I already drink too much coffee, but having visited David's Tea I can now justify the purchase by using it to brew tea, too. I stopped by this location yesterday and was offered a sample of some buttered rum black tea by a friendly employee who explained the deal to me: all the teas are colour-coded behind the counter (black, white, green, herbal, oolong etc.), and you can ask to smell any of them before purchase. They also have pamphlets that list all the teas in stock during the season, which I'm sure I'll find useful for future visits. Some of the teas are quite expensive (up to $20/50g for the really fancy stuff, but your basic earl grey and english breakfast are both $4.50/50g. I ended up buying the delicious pumpkin chai from their fall line ($6.75/50g) and sweet dreams ($6.50/50g), which i haven't yet tried but which i assume is better than the teabags available from the grocery store.
