I never noticed this giant Ferris wheel (in fact it is currently the world's tallest Ferris wheel as of January 2017) until one of my coworkers mentioned about the 30-minute in-cabin open bar experience with unlimited drinks (you heard it - UNLIMITED).
Tickets: General admission @ the ticket booth is $25 before 5 PM and $37 after 5 PM (all prices include tax). The open bar experience (21+ only) is $40 before 5 PM and $52 after 5 PM. However, occasionally there are special LivingSocial or Groupon special deals. If all else fail, then at least consider buying tickets on the High Roller website rather than buying tickets at the ticket booth because you get special internet discounts.
IMPORTANT: If you purchase online tickets and print ahead of time, then you will be able to skip the long waiting line at the ticket counter.
Once you enter into the building, then general admission ticket holders will have an opportunity to purchase beverages before you hop into the pod. After you go up an escalator and wait until your turn, then you will have to quickly hop into the pod.
The pod moved very slowly and steadily, so you generally don't have to worry about motion sickness other than fear of heights. If you legs are shaking, then there are benches inside the pod to sit on and you can still enjoy the gorgeous Vegas view. The virtual video guide was somewhat annoying, but the 30-minute ride was over in the blink of an eye.
Yea it was definitely an one-and-done experience, but the ride wasn't as boring as I originally thought. Ideally you want to ride the High Roller while the sun is setting.
