| - Went on a scorching Thursday early afternoon without an appointment. Despite the odds against me, my visit got off to a great start - I was accepted in immediately, and given a cool juice box. Their menu has recently undergone a price hike. For a ladies cut, it now costs $30.
I had thick, medium length asian hair and wanted to get a slightly androgynous pixie cut that didn't make my round face look silly. The hair stylist was really helpful, and browsed their wide variety of asian magazines with me for a few minutes. We agreed on a combination of two hairstyles.
The wash and shampoo was okay. Smelled decent, and did its job, but nothing to rave about. When it came down to cutting, the hair stylist did an excellent job. She managed to work in my odd request and make my haircut look great. Conversation was light and not forced, which is what I prefer. She really put in a lot of effort into cutting my hair, and her precise work with my bird's nest of a head is something I appreciated. Every now and then, she made a comment about how thick my hair was. When she styled it, she recommended I get wax. If your hair is thicker than the average asian, I don't think you have reason to fret. They may not encounter our hair type often, but they do cut and style it well.
Very methodical, reassuring work. Your hair is in good hands with Maya.
