  • Miss Molly's Tea Room is a place I've heard about for years but have only visited recently when the ladies in my family decided to start an annual tea tradition this year. My sister-in-law made reservations about three weeks in advance. We we arrived, it was a hot mess at the hostess desk. There were people waiting around everywhere, and most had reservations. We would have been fine, but my niece, who is only two, doesn't have the same kind of patience that adults do. It is a very popular place for mother-daughter groups, so children dining there is a common thing to do, and it really is unfair to the little ladies. We ended up having to wait about half an hour to be seated, which if you have a reservations, seems a little bit much. We were happy to finally be seated, and we began to pour over the extensive list of teas. I got the orange spice cinnamon at the recommendation of another Yelper. It is good, but my mom ordered the Christmas Memories tea, and it was a favorite of the whole table! The tea is brought out in all different teapots, so you get a huge serving of tea. It does get a bit bitter by the last cup or two. They even brought out my niece's tea in a child's sized teapot. She really loved it! On the menu of sides, they have lots of summer party favorites from my childhood that I love and remember well, like broccoli salad, cucumber salad, and strawberry pretzel salad. I ordered the chicken salad and broccoli salad. I loved the chicken salad was awesome, and the broccoli salad was everything I remembered it to be! My mom ordered the tea room sandwich sampler, which comes with chicken salad, tuna salad, and pimento cheese. Even though they are smaller than a regular sandwich, they are cut into the shape of hears and are still a very generous portion. I think that may be the way to go next time, so I can more than just type of sandwich. My sister-in-law, who is a vegetarian, got the vegetable cornbread, and she said it was "interesting", translating that meant it wasn't very good. Our server was a sweet older woman, who was very kind, and made sure that my niece was able to get her food right away, which we really appreciated. Despite the mess of their reservation system, we did end up having a great time. Hopefully, they work out this kink, but even if they do not, next year, we will just know to be patient.
