  • I've been going to The Root for a couple years after relocating and feel bad for only writing a review now, especially since I found them on Yelp. But I just got my hair done and yet again, feel great, so wanted to write. I go to both Emilys for full highlights and cut and they are both fantastic. Great quality highlights, really exact and do my tiny wisps on my hairline. They listen and clearly are trying to give you what you want rather than a vision they may have for you. They ask follow ups to clarify contradictory requests from people like me (Me: "No, I don't want bangs, but I want you to cut my hair so there is hair that covers my forehead" Yes, that was my request and Emilys did it. No it's not bangs. And they are friendly. This may seem irrelevant, but friendly matters to me. They are friendly to customers and each other. I've heard each one of them deal with tricky customers/hair "situations" - and are always professional. They also seem to really like one another and I don't know, but that matters to me when I'm sitting there for a few hours. Also, just the small stuff I love; they put your feet up when washing your hair, they offer you a drink (water, wine, coffee, beer), there are cookies, and when I first got to town they brainstormed a list of restaurants I should check out. Just nice, just extra. Scheduling, sure, they are busy - that is a good thing. Who wants to go to a hair salon that no one goes back to and has a bunch of openings this week? Register at their website and book online (and they also have gotten me in on a cancellation during hair emergencies.) Thanks Emilys for being really, really great.
