| - The sofitel has hosted us on a couple of trips to Montreal and it' reliable, consistent, clean and contemporary. It's a nice option right on Sherbrooke close to St Catherine's and a 10 min cab ride from old montreal, Mont Royal, St Laurent and the old port. The rooms are spacious and some come with a small sitting area (ours did this time).
This is the perfect respite after a full day of walking, eating and dancing on montreal. You can just plop into the X number thread count sheets (not sure what count they are) and melt into the marshmallow pillows. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and really most of the time, we're only in the room to sleep.
A couple of bones to pick: there are no trash bins in the lobby which is a little irritating especially if want to clear the cup holders of the coffee cups you've piled up after a road trip. Also, on the AM of our departure, house keeping knocked on the door 2 or 3 times asking when we were leaving even though checkout wasn't until noon. This had never happened on our prior stays and was mostly annoying.
The toiletries were Le Notes de Lanvin nothing super fancy, but nice. The soap smelled amazing, but the body lotion and conditioner have a manly scent to them. They offer bath robes and slippers for your stay. (Tip: the slippers are super soft and complimentary!)
On your way out they put a couple of water bottles in the cup holders, I guess it's their valet version of a mint on your pillow? It was a nice touch but the water was not cold... at least they tried.
