I got group rates for the HRH because of a conference and made the best out of it. Overall rating: 3.
The pros:
I stayed in a corner room in the Paradise tower and thought it was pretty good. Nice view (of the pool and city), nice bed, and nice furniture.
Free lot parking next to each of the towers.
Checkout was easy peasy.
The cons:
Checking in was a pain in my arse. I first drove to the wrong tower and parked far away. After walking in, I was told to drive to the other tower and check in there. I did, and walked through the entire complex only to end up where I left off. The check in area, or "registration" in in the casino area which is in between the two towers (and parking lots). And then there was the hour wait to check in. I really wanted to lie down but for a few but I had to immediately leave to make it to my conference.
The rooms themselves were barely lit. I came here to work, not just party, and I really would have appreciated a reading lamp at the desk. I also could barely see inside the bathrooms. I was glad to have a corner room because sunlight saved the day. Also, the drains in my shower weren't so good. When I showered, an inch or two of dirty water would build up and then take 30 minutes to drain. Kinda gross.
The pool area was strange. You had to get IDd and wristbanded to get to the pool, so make sure you don't leave your wallet behind in your room. There are two main pools (and a family pool). The main pool is has sand in it (which tends to get as hot as the air) and is where music is blasted throughout the day. There are bars as well.
The free wifi sucked not because of the speed limitations but because of the router strength. I couldn't even pay to get better wifi. It was just not possible.
