  • This place is nothing like the Walnut Grill in Shadyside. Nor is it like its more casual downstairs neighbor, Shady Grove. You should know that in advance. It is pretentious enough to have valet parking outside, but still Pittsburgh-trashy enough to have a sports bar with screaming fans as soon as you walk in. I have one gone to this location once, and the service was almost comically bad. I had one of the most inattentive waitresses ever. I think someone must have noticed, because a manager-type guy came by and asked if we needed anything. I asked for a drink refill because my drink had been sitting empty for a good five minutes. It took him about that long to come back with a new diet soda. After we finally got our food and had eaten, another manger-type came to clear the table, and spilled salad dressing all over the table. He then attempted to clean it up with one cocktail napkin. Finally, when the waitress came with the check, her pen leaked all over the place. The whole experience was just ridiculous. I barely remember the food, because it was so over-shadowed by the weird service and atmosphere.
