My wife and I went to Eleven for anniversary. We made an reservation and they gave us a quiet corner on the 2nd floor. Server was kinda of slow, but it was fine for us.
Food was good overall. Below is what we had:
- bread: Out of the three options they had, we like the sea-salted one the most. Having said that, I am a but disappointed that the bread is not hot / warm. If Cheesecake Factory can serve warm bread, I expect any higher-end restaurant to do better.
- Oysters: They are small oysters but they are great. Forget about the sauces, you dont need those.
- Seafood Tasting: Scallop was perfect. Halibut and crab cake was over-cooked to my liking. The crabmeat they uses were good and big, I just wish that it was more juicy.
Chef's tasting menus
- Yellowtail Sashimi: Best Yellowtail Sashimi I had. Fish was fresh. The whole dish had a great combination. It was the highlight of the night. Must-try if you like seafood.
- Seared Rare Tuna: Interesting dish, and I like this a lot. Tuna was done perfectly. Rock shrimp was a surprise. Dried tomatoes was a nice touch. The only issue is the chorizo, which was so strong and over-favored the tuna. I wish the tuna was paired with something lighter.
- Strip Steak: It was perfect. (We had it "rare" instead of "medium-rare")
- Black Forest Torte: we later realize that we can pick other dessert instead, though this one is "included" in the chef's tasting menus. I am glad we did not change it anything else.
