The previous review is unfortunately spot on. Dr Lavit is a nice man, but being that I paid thousands of dollars for professional services relating to a custody case, nice is not what I was looking for. It is well past time for Dr Lavit to move on from "counseling" and simply enjoy his golden years.
For $300 an hour, I got to watch him sort and open mail, walk his dogs and take care of front office duties when his assistant was not at work, all while on my dime quite literally. He frequently lapsed in recalling where we were in conversation and did not take the copious notes that I'd expect a professional to do, which lead to a variety of pertinent information not being included in his report, this came at the cost of $1500 after paying multiple thousands for hourly visits and $600 to read emails.
Personally he is a descent man who I think does want to help people, but he also nickels and dimes to the point of fleecing in my opinion. If he were still able to diligently provide and execute his services this all wouldn't be so bad, but he's not, so it is truly that bad. Do yourself a favor and find another court appointed psychologist. I wish I did.
