| - Gretchen P and I needed an inexpensive place to stay for a night in Toronto, and everything was booked up, or the prices were inflated due to the PanAm games. We found the Bond Place Hotel on HotelTonight, and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The front desk staff were kind and while the lobby is quite small, it was pleasant enough.
You need to swipe your key to use the elevator, which is a pet peeve of mine, but I suppose it's a safety precaution. Our room was small, but clean and tidy, and while it was very basic, it was exactly what we needed. A queen size bed and a pull out couch that was surprisingly comfortable. The sliding door in the bathroom is a bit odd, but I understand it saves space.
We got a package that included wifi, but if you don't, you do have to pay. This place seems to be a gathering spot for a bit of a rowdy crow, as we did hear several party animals on our floor.
The location is fantastic, which lots of options for food and entertainment nearby. Our room has a wonderful view of the city as well.
If I was looking for a low-cost option in the city, I would certainly stay here again.
