| - The good thing about this place is that it's near a lot of restaurants and they have a nice pool that even has some sand. It's definitely one of their big selling points and is likely one of the reasons many of you are even considering this place.
And now for the bad:
If you don't like surprises as in fees you weren't expecting, think twice before renting here. Whatever is the rent price you see on their website, be prepared to see a higher price once you find out they add on a bunch of fees from monthly admin fees to MANDATORY valet trash pickup ($25/month) ON TOP of the regular trash fee they already charge each month. I'm not an idiot, I can neatly take out my own trash but apparently, they must had a lot of messy people living here in the past to enforce such a thing. That or they think we're too dumb to neatly do it ourselves.
You'll have to get your own gas service just like anywhere else but here, you get the privilege of paying another gas payment which they recently added without any prior notice hoping that most people wouldn't catch it, probably to reduce the amount of complaints. What for you ask? It doesn't matter, they can say it's to allow sunlight shine down on the apartments because you have no choice but to pay it anyway.
In fact, they're legally allowed to add on fees whenever they want and once you sign that lease agreement, you can't do a thing about it except break your lease and lose a bunch of money. If I could go back, I would rip up that lease agreement and look elsewhere but I was an idiot and skimmed the agreement. I must've also been reviewing the lease while being memorized by the pool like a moron. I'm glad I won't be here for much longer.
If you hate hidden/added fees, don't rent here or any other Mark Taylor apartments for that matter. However, if you don't care about your money and only want to live here because of the pool, go right ahead.
At this point, I don't even expect to get my deposit back.
