  • Busted ring finger, wedding band needed to be cut off. Simple repair. Was initially quoted $30-40, and was told that there'd be a difference in price between simply repairing the band (making the joint), and detailing the small rim where the joint would be made. Got back the estimate, $90-100. 2-3X the initial quote. WTH? Additionally, was told there'd be no difference in price whether they did the simple joint repair, or detailed the rim where the joint was made. We reminded them on both counts, ignored. Nope.
