We've been here a few times and most recently was during a festival in Heritage Square.
We were easily sat at the patio table out front and were instantly greeted by the server with water for the table. However, we waited well over 10 minutes for the drinks to actually arrive. I thought for sure the place was packed with the festivities, but when I went inside to use the restroom it was empty. I didn't understand the long waits, there are very few tables to the place.
Regardless, most of the food is pretty good.
Good: Fish and chips- not overly greasy and the tartar has huge chunks of pickle. Reuben- hot, fresh and not too greasy. Buffalo chicken salad- surprisingly great on fresh greens (no iceberg). Beer- it's always fresh.
Not so good: potato skins- overcooked and bland, fries- also overcooked and bland.
I think this is a great option to meet up with friends but I don't get the warm fuzzies to make it a regular hangout.
Next time I'm in the mood for an Irish pub experience, my strategy will be to light-rail down here to eat and then hop back on to go to Turf to hang out and finish the night.
