| - So would have given Burnt to Order 5 stars a while back, but things have changed for this once perfect little creme brulee heaven of a store.
So we first found this store at the Calgary Farmers Market and tried their Cracker Jacked Creme Brulee(salted caramel popcorn) and we instantly loved it! Everything about the creme brulee was perfect. Back then visited the Calgary Farmers Market just to have some creme brulee from them.
Then one day, the store was closed, but we were told that the main store in the Crossroads Market is still open. We went over there to look for Burnt to Order, but couldn't find it. Instead we saw a creme brulee pop up with a different name (Creme of the Crop), but when we asked them if this was the only creme brulee store in the market, they told us that they were Burnt to Order. Well, that's a bit confusing.
So we asked if they have the salted caramel brulee and they said they didn't have any, but they could put some caramel on top of their vanilla bean creme brulee which would taste pretty close to the salted caramel. It didnt taste anything like it of cours, but the taste was still good. My complaint is that the whole creme brulee was quite cold. The only part that was a little bit warm was the caramelized top. I remembered how amazed I was with their store at the Calgary Farmers Market, where the creme brulee was warm and the caramelized top was perfect.
Note: Just as a reference - I was on my 3rd trimester when I last visited and kid you not, I walked over 10 times around the whole Crossroads Market looking for Burnt to Order. That's how much I really wanted to have one of their tasty creations.
I would still recommend them as I'm hoping their quality has changed now that it has been months since I have been there. Cross our fingers!
