| - We went to a presentation in Savannah, Georgia on January 2nd or 3rd, of this year. The staff was very professional, low pressure and polite. We decided to buy a Sampler Package, and as a result, booked a six night stay at Cibola Vista.
As part of the deal, we were expected to sit thru a final sales pitch, sometime during our stay. We were scheduled at 1:30 on Monday, which was our second full day here. Thirty minutes into the presentation, I let slip (my big mouth) that we had alcohol with our lunch, consumed at their pool-side cantina.
This raised red flags and they wanted to cancel our appointment, and reschedule for another day. We decided that we were not willing to do this, and as a result, we had to pay an additional $150.
This was a known result of our refusal, and I am not complaining about the loss of the $150. If we had stopped at the initial pitch in Savannah, which had two free nights lodging attached to it, We would have been happy. Our mistake was to buy the Sampler for $900, which was about what we deem the accommodations were worth. The additional $150 in penalty makes the value a little high.
My advice is to avoid BlueGreen, and all other timeshares. Plan your vacations using VRBO or other similar sites. Your $30,000.00 will go a long way, and you won't be locked in to locations that are not where you really want to be.
BlueGreen is a timeshare, plain and simple
