While the price tag is quite high for desserts, you absolutely are paying for what you get; and the value is definitely there. Even midday on a Friday, there was already quite the seated crowd and line up. Having had the Avery - an earl grey mousse upon a strawberry cheesecake base with a strawberry cake and sauce inside the mouse - I was quite impressed with the complexity of the small cake. As for the Rocky - a decadent chocolate cake with hazelnuts and walnuts - was quite the contrast, not overly sweet, and had a wonderful balance between the chocolate and the nut toppings. Both cakes had the right amount of crunchy textures and soft textures. I had also purchased two of the Book pastries to go; one in chocolate and matcha. The excellence of their cakes carries over into the excellence of their pastries as well; in the flaky crust and smooth fillings that don't overwhelm the pastry. Overall, a cosy cafe amongst an ample of restaurants in the same plaza. The craftsmanship and attention to each cake, both in flavour and construction, is very evident. If you're looking for
