The new art deco Teeter is finally open. After doing brunch at Lulu with my friend Robin C, I decided I had to check out the new Teeter.
The architecture of the exterior of the building is art-deco which I was hoping carried on inside the store. But I was disappointed that it does not.
The store is laid out in sort of a triangle shape sort of like the Tajma Teeter at South Park but the aisles on the left side of the store are at an angle.
I disagree with Trey on the wide aisles. I thought they were standard Harris Teeter size. Just big enough for two carts to be side by side but not enough for anyone to get by if someone is hogging the middle of the aisle.
It's their grand opening so they were quite busy. Trying to find a parking space was like trying to find one a close space at the mall around the holidays. You had to drive around and around and around to find a space and hopefully you could find one without someone yelling "Towanda" at you.
One odd thing I noticed in the parking lot. There were two young men hanging around the edge of the parking lot. I thought they both look suspicious. One was outside the fence and the other was right at the parking lot entrance. I wondered if this was some sort of drug activity or other illegal activity going on in the area.
Anyway, the new Teeter is better than the one it replaced but I still came away a bit dissapointed. I was more impressed with a Teeter down in Steele Creek that I visited recently.
