  • I had my first dining expereince at Sage recently. I will say this much, it's a tasty restaurant. The service was spectacular, especially from Richard, who for some reason is not a main server. The beer choices were fantastic. They had an array of trappist beers, ales, a few IPA's, etc. The ambiance of the restaurant is great. They have an a great combination of dark and light vibrant colors. The color combination is purple and gold with different accents. I especially liked the old school, speakeasy feel to the restaurant. It was very dark inside the restaurant, but the lamps are a nice touch. The waiters started us out with a couple of different bread choices, a french bread and a cheddar bacon bread. The CBB was amazzzzzinnnngggg! I had to ask for another piece. They provided a a nice herbed butter with Australian pink salt to add to our bread. We decided to try out the Sweetbread as an appitizer. We had no idea what it was when we first ordered it. When it came, it looked appetizing in a small dish. I will tell you this, it was one of the best appetizers I have ever had. The only thing I that took me back for a moment was what a sweetbread is. Google it if you don't know. Honestly, I loved it. The next thing I ordered was the 36 hour Wagyu short rib. This was a great decision. It was so moist and tender. It was served over a bed of white asparagus, turnips, and a crispy type potato. It was my favorite out of what we had (three people together, we tried each others dishes). My friend ordered the rabbit, which came out on a bed of spinach and fresh peas. It was tasty and was the first time I tried rabbit. I still preferred a red meat. My other friend got the Kobe skirt steak, which was great. It was tender, but there was a bite where it was a little tough. My friends were still pretty envious of the choice I had made for dinner. We decided to skip desert, because we're more beer drinkers than desert people. If they had some sort of beer desert, we may have tried it. The restaurant, however, gave us a desert type drink. It was a blueberry flavored almond milk that was delectable. I was fortunate enough to have a complimentary amount of money applied to this meal, because of my job. The pricing was way too rich for my blood. Each of our main courses were between $45 and $59 dollars, which is what I usually wouldn't spend on a meal. Add in appetizers and beers and you have yourself a pretty sizable check, but, I guess for some, really wasn't that bad for three people ($256 plus tip) This is the only reason I gave the experience four stars.
