| - I long awaited to visit this haunt from the moment I heard about it years ago. I had the opportunity to visit the haunt on the Legendary Haunt Tour in November 2016. Not only did I experience the haunt, but also their Extreme Haunt: The Basement. Overall, I was completely amazed, yet dissatisfied in some areas. I had high expectations for this haunt from all the reviews, marketing, and publicity about the haunt.
During the Legendary Haunt Tour, The Scarehouse offered us a lot of nice treats during our visit. The Scarehouse Bunny was my favorite character I was dying to meet since he looked scary in the videos. Sadly, his image was changed. But, he still interacted with me on the stairs though. That was intense.
The Haunt was a very nice old theatre lifestyle in the beginning. While waiting to attend the show, a Hobo Clown was on the mini stage for entertainment. Then we were paired up in a group of about 6 people in the theatre lobby. There were like 5 separate lines with groups waiting for their cue light sound to enter the theatre for the haunt.
No spoilers, but I'll briefly overall the haunt. The haunt started out strong with their theme, story-line, lots of surprises, scares, and unique pathways. There were 3 major theme sequences along the pathway with some small themed areas. Sadly, as the haunt continued on, the haunt was getting weaker. In other words, the haunt was going strong that gave me a feeling the climax is going to be amazingly terrifying. The ending of the haunt was a bust. I walked away saying I hope that wasn't the ending. Sure enough, that was the ending.
The haunt had some intense moments like a room with multiple doors that you must find the right door to continue through. Then there were some dull moments in the haunt that wasn't scary or uncomfortable. My favorite scene was the the theatre and the Sam room. Best moments for me.
The haunt was long, but I thought it would be longer like another haunt in the area. Still worth the visit and experience though. This is just my opinion.
Now for my review on The Basement. I heard about this haunt experience from one of the workers at a previous day event during the tour. My friend and booked our spot for the haunt. They describe this haunt as an Extreme Haunt, but more theatrical. An extreme haunt may be described as a torture haunt where you will be grabbed, shocked, punched, and feel extremely uncomfortable in extreme conditions. People have their own definition of the term. For this experience, the warnings were: Shocked, bag over your head, grabbed, and other things. I was already nervous to hear about this, so I tried to prepare myself for the unexpected.
The haunt was about you attending a birthday for a clown. You must be ready for the party and have a gift for her. The haunt contains you and one friend if you desire. No one else. The haunt was in fact a very theatrical experience that felt like a horror film. It lasted about 45 minutes or so in my opinion. The adrenaline was intense, never a dull moment, always kept me on my toes, very well done in acting and sequence, and nothing too dangerous. The ending was very intense and very realistic. I felt very emotional when leaving the haunt because it taught me something. You must experience the haunt to learn what I am talking about.
The bag over my head wasn't bad at all. I could breathe just fine. I was just scared of not seeing where I was walking to and being touched in various places. Awesome job everyone.
Make a visit to The Scarehouse for a thrilling haunting experience like no other. Each year that create new scenes in their haunt. So no two years are the same. I thought this haunt was very unique and I had a wonderful time. Thank you Scarehouse for all the hard work you all put on for us during the Legendary Haunt Tour in November 2016.
