I typically frequent the Desert Ridge location since it's closer to where I live, but I'll often stop in to this location when in the area. It's a good, basic example of the franchise and I've frankly never had a bad experience here. The parking situation is definitely better than the mess that is Desert Ridge.
The selection is always good and it's a very rare occasion when I walk out without something new to read. The staff has always been friendly, at least at the checkout; I haven't had much interaction with any associates on the floor but I tend to just go about my browsing without wanting any help anyway, so it's not much of an issue for me.
I rarely, if ever, make use of the usual Starbuck's section so I can't really speak to those who complain about the quality of the fare or that they don't accept Starbucks cards. Though that is typical of most all such services located within stores: they are only offering Starbuck's-branded items and are not actual Starbuck's stores and as such are part of the store they're in.
Anyway, overall I like this location quite a bit and when I'm in the Deer Valley area am usually going to make a stop in. Nice place.
