  • This hotel is ridiculous. It's clearly cheap apartments that were hastily converted into a "hotel" in name only. It's a no frills place, which considering the great location and low price seems a good deal. But there's a lot of issues here. Here's the ones I experienced: Troubled plumbing - the toilet flushes sometimes. Often I had to fiddle with the handle or the water tank to get it to work properly. SLOW elevator - they have two. But they are both small (fitting 4 people comfortably and anymore EXTREMELY uncomfortably). Staff uses them too, so you're often invited to share the ride with massive piles of trash or laundry. But do you want to wait ANOTHER five minutes for the elevator? NO washcloths: It's a bizarre omission. They give you bath towels and hand towels, but NO washcloths. I ended up walking to a nearby pharmacy to buy a loofa. And the soap they offer is essentially chalk. I also bought lotion and bodywash b/c the soap was drying out my skin after just one use! The "high-speed" wifi is ABYSMALLY slow. It kept kicking me offline, and I'd have to quit out and come back. Impossible to work with. THE LAUNDRY ROOM IS RIDICULOUS. I went down to the lobby hoping to buy soap, and was told they didn't have change for the purchase. Could I wait two hours? No. So I went across the street to the bodega to get change. I bought my soap and took my clothes in a plastic shopping bag to the laundry room, assuming that while my room didn't have a laundry basket SURELY the laundry room would. How else would anyone transport clothes from the washer to dryer? But nope! I put my clothes in the wash, and went back to the lobby, convinced there was an oversight that there was no laundry basket in my room. (Which is standard when a place offers onsite laundry.) But the clerk at the desk--who wears a perpetual sneer--told me they don't provide laundry baskets. "The laundry room is for the convenience of guests." I told him it wasn't especially convenient if you don't provide a laundry basket. He stared at me blankly. I was about to walk off in a huff when another clerk offered me fresh garbage bags to tote my laundry in. AM I SERIOUSLY THE FIRST PERSON TO ASK ABOUT THIS?! I ended up rooting through my room's kitchen and taking a medium-sized collander up to the laundry room to tote the wet clothes to the dryer. The pool is gross. It's on the roof-top, but in an enclosed space that smells strong of chlorine. It's far from charming. The workout room is full of broken equipment. I get no frills, but this is ridiculous. The staff was friendly all except that one clerk, who unfortunately is almost always at the desk. He' s brusque to rude, as if me asking for literally anything is an inconvenience instead of part of his damn job.
