  • I had the worst experience with this company. I moved cross country (NV to NC) and was left in a sticky situation when the moving line I contracted months in advance backed out last minute, due to no longer having a reliable service partner in the city. With no time to research, I used a broker who sent the contract to these guys. I requested the pickup date two to three weeks prior to possession of my new home so we could have plenty of time to coordinate having the load dropped off as soon as possible. I would rather be without belongings in my old home for a few weeks so I could get settled in the new place sooner. Logical right? When speaking to them prior to pick up this was no problem and they assured me they would work with me to get delivery as close as possible to my move in date. A few days after pickup I get a call with the "new" quote, around $2000 more than the estimate. After weighing the truck the weight came in way over the estimate. Curiously, it also came in at over 1000 lbs more than when I had last moved only two years previous. I was downsizing and moving way less furniture, but I found myself without much of a leg to stand on. They have all my stuff, they have the truck scale receipt, I quite literally had nothing. I cannot prove they added additional weight to the truck, but I can't see any other explanation. I had no choice but to accept and move forward. Over the next few weeks I had several conversations with this company wanting to deliver my furniture even though I was always very clear I would not have possession of my new home until two weeks after the pickup. The man I spoke to was extremely condescending, answering my questions with questions, telling me I don't understand how this business works, telling me to calm down when I was getting frustrated and called him out on talking in circles. I'm a professional, educated woman (who works in logistics with a clear understanding of the industry jargon he was attempting to confuse me with) and I was being spoken to like I was a toddler. He was rude and blatantly attempting to intimidate me. But again, they had my stuff, I had little ground to stand on. When I got possession of my new home they told me it would take two more weeks because I hadn't let them know a date when I could accept delivery. Fast forward two weeks the furniture is here! I had to pay the balance (extortion) before they would touch a box, all in cash. This fee went up by a few hundred dollars over the "new" quote, even though every conversation I had previous included confirming the balance. I wanted my stuff, I paid. They waited outside in the truck while I went to get more cash. They unloaded and I was relieved to have them out of my life. Boxes were open, retaped & crushed. Furniture was chipped & gauged. Everything was covered in a layer of dirt. As I dug into unpacking I discovered I had several boxes that were not mine and I was missing several boxes. Bloody nightmare. I weighed going back to them and filing a claim, but eventually decided it would not be worth the hassle. After the way I had been treated during the whole process I made the decision that for my mental well being I would write it off as an expensive bad experience. Moving had been stressful enough, I needed to be done with the ridiculousness. This is what they count on, you being too frustrated with the experience to pursue a complaint. What was I supposed to do? Pay another company to load up all my things and weigh them so I can prove they fudged the weight? Then what? Sue them? I don't have time for that. In the end, I believe this operation is a scam run by a bunch of shysters. I'm grateful I had the funds to pay the extortion, but I wonder what happens to people who can't find an extra $2000? They take advantage of the fact you are in a vulnerable and stressful situation and they extort money at every turn. Unless you have unlimited funds or the time to be embroiled in a lawsuit, do not use this company. Please learn from my experience, the only positive to come out of this would be if I am able to save someone else from the nightmare. I repeat, do not use this company.
