Forget the Las Vegas Strip, Fremont Street is where it is at in Las Vegas. If you are over the overpriced douchebaggy spots on the Strip, then let Downtown Vegas show you the cheaper things in life. Though it doesn't have the same glitz and glamour as the Strip, this older part of the Vegas scene is definitely a good change of pace. Not only are the drinks and gambling cheaper, but they have a zip line that goes across the entire street. At night, you'll have the free and amazing Fremont Street Experience right above you. There are a ton of shady characters in the area, so be vigilant of your belongings. Also, unlike the Strip where you can have open containers of alcohol, on Fremont Street, you need to pour your drink in a plastic cup. Luckily, most of the hotels have plastic cups waiting to be used at the doors. Downtown and Fremont are definitely my new favorite areas of Vegas.
